A cast-bronze Coast Live Oak leaf pendant.
The master copy of this leaf I created back in 2018, in fine silver, using an interminably tedious Japanese method of creating silver leaves, using real leaves involving dozens of hours of careful work.
Once the master copy was made, it was duplicated using the lost wax method of casting, in bronze. Then, it was hand worked to add a twisting fine silver bail and hung on an open length deerhide cord to create a pendant.
The original leaf I collected off the ground beneath an absolutely towering old growth Coast Live Oak while I was supposed to be working in Briones Regional Park. The leaf litter was beckoning, with magical metallic daydreams, however, and a dead leaf was reborn in silver.
