This pendant is a gold replica of a silver Celtiberian coin, from what is now central Spain, dating back to the second Punic wars, from 210-201 BC, about 2226 years ago.
Ancient techniques: Cast in-house, one at a time, using Bronze Age casting technology, each pendant is meticulously crafted from scratch in your choice of 18, 22, or 24k gold.
Fitted with my signature blackened, heavy & durable, welded sterling silver ring-style bail, so you can easily mix and match your pendant with your favorite chains.

The story: I had been aware of the existence of this particular run of ancient Celtic coins for decades. What intrigued me was that they feature a distinctly modern looking Iberian horse and rider, with an accurate date and provenance, from thousands of years ago. What an incredibly crisp, and distinctly humanized look into the haze of the ancient past!
The origin of the Iberian horse phenotype is hotly debated by the respective modern countries and peoples they belong to today, but this coin is hard evidence that at least at this point in time, thanks to accurately dated coinage, we know for a fact they were Celtic. I spent years searching for one in excellent condition expressly for the purpose of replicating it in gold, and finally found one in early 2025.
I was able to successfully replicate it in gold in my studio, and now it is now my joy to put them in your hands, reborn and relevant, in 2025.
