Large Amber specimen with insects
A truly extraordinary Columbian amber s pecimen, coming in at a whopping 11.10 grams, 4.5 cm long, 3 cm wide, and 1 cm thick.
Roughly 4 million years old, this fossil contains dozens of interesting insect & plant inclusions.
There are dipterans (flies), at least one tiny beetle, a semi transparent spider, a fragment of moss, and other insects I am not informed enough to identify, though most look like dipterans.
Specimens like this are very difficult to pass along! They don’t come around too often and I’ll be keeping whichever of the two large specimens doesn’t sell; I find them equally compelling.
