A stunning fire agate, on a split-shank size 7 sterling silver ring, with 18k gold droplets. Truly a one of a kind treasure and some of my best work. I get my fire agates from a guy who mines and cuts them himself in the US, which is pretty cool, and my favorite way to source stones.
Fire agate is in fact an exceedingly rare type of Chalcedony, found only in a few places in North America. With good hardness, clarity, and heart stopping iridescent color, fire agates are in my opinion one of the more extraordinary minerals on the planet.
As with all gemstone jewelry, polish only with a soft jewelry cloth, protect from moisture and corrosive substances, and NEVER use an ultrasonic cleaner.
